Just Wait a Few Years

What a difference a few years can make. Remember when Washington State was skewered for its “Say WA” campaign? And then, Wyoming won awards for “That’s WY?”

It’s happened again. Tourism officials in Regina Canada were vilified in 2023 for a sexualized campaign that suggested the destination was “The City that Rhymes with Fun.

Yet, Vilnius Lithuania recent won international marketing awards for its campaign calling “Vilnius the G-Spot of Europe: Nobody Knows Where it is, but when you find it - it’s amazing.”

I guess the lesson here is, when you see a campaign get flamed, wait a few years and try it again.
