A Bold Retort

Whenever an elected official spouts off that destination marketing isn’t important because everyone already knows and loves us, I’ll typically mutter under my breath, “then why do you litter the city with yard signs every election cycle?

There is some controversy brewing in West Virginia, where some in Clarksburg are advocating to fold that city’s Destination Marketing initiative into a regional play headed by the larger (and better funded) Visit Mountaineer Country (the Morgantown CVB). The Clarksburg CVB Board President recently threw down with this retort:

“It is my opinion that if City Council would decide that it’s better for Morgantown CVB to make all the decisions for Clarksburg, then I would propose that we do away with Clarksburg City Council and let Morgantown City Council make all the decisions for Clarksburg,”

Boomshakalaka. Gotta love it.
