I (Sadly) Sense a Correlation

I caught a recent article in Incentive magazine that pointed to a new study indicating that incentive planners, while appreciating the role DMOs play, aren’t utilizing their services as much as they should. The typical response when asked “why” was the belief that DMOs only care about large groups. My response is, not the smart ones.

But here was the finding that burns my butt. A third of incentive planners report they are reticent to use DMOs because of a past bad experience, typically a lack of timely response to a request.

If you are physically (or culturally) not prepared to respond to a client request within 24 hours, then youshould strongly consider departing the group sales arena. Because the rest of your peers are responding in a rapid fashion…and you’re making the rest of the sector look bad (and costing them respect and business).

Just sayin’
