Thank the Lord for the Night Time

Two songs vied in my mind for the title of today's post, the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" and Neil Diamond's "Thank the Lord for the Night Time."

"Hot Town, Summer in the City...back of my neck getting dirty and gritty"

"Thank the Lord for the Night Time...forget the Day."

Both very appropriate for this story out of China, where daytime temperatures in some regions have become so stifling that consumers are driving a significant boon in evening tourism and visitor spending.

We've talked about the power of the night time economy for years. Maybe the rising temperatures around the world will drive the shift where logic and opportunity never did.

Want more on the power of the night? A couple of years ago, former 24-Hour Dallas Coordinator Bryan Tony joined us on the DMOU Podcast to share how his organization collaborates with public and private interests to make the night time economy flourish.
