Muskogee OK Tourism is being folded into City government...but, reading the announcement would make one think that this is a monumental moment in American Tourism marketing.

In alignment with broader tourism governance evolutions within the US, Muskogee has officially done away with its Tourism Authority and placed destination management as a unit within city administration as a way of concentrating tourism activities, increasing accountabilities, and enhancing coordination between tourism promotion and economic development initiatives.

Honestly...what national alignment are we talking about here?

A carefully structured transition plan has been outlined to ensure that the dissolution of the Muskogee Tourism Authority does not disrupt current promotional efforts, marketing campaigns, or tourism-related events. The City of Muskogee will now assume the full scope of tourism planning, budgeting, staff management, and strategic development.

Sounds really well thought through...though I kinda doubt it because:
